Olympiad-Medals

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education is the nodal centre for Olympiad programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Astronomy. The programmes aim at promoting excellence in science and mathematics among per-university students. The Science Olympiad programme in India leading to international participation is implemented by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (TIFR) in collaboration with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and the Indian Association of Chemistry Teachers (IACT).

International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

About IJSO :-
The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a competitive examination open to students of all countries in the world, primarily studying in secondary schools. All basic subjects of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics) are given roughly equal representation in the IJSO examination.
Beginning the year 2008-2009, the National Olympiad Programme includes Junior Science also.
The Junior Science Olympiad program will follow the following 5 stages:

• Stage I: National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS)
• Stage II: Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO)
• Stage III: Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in junior science
• Stage IV: Pre-departure Training Camp (PDT) for IJSO
• Stage V: Participation in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

Stage I will be entirely the responsibility of IAPT. All the remaining stages will be organized by the HBCSE.

International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO)

About IESO :-
International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO), is an annual competition for secondary school students. It checks their abilities in disciplines such as geology, environmental science & terrestrial astronomy. It is one of the major activity of International Geo Science Education Organization (IGSO) that aims at raising students interest & public awareness about Earth Science. The Geological Society of India conducts an objective type entrance test to select about 20 students to attend a training camp in earth science at Bangalore, out of which only four students are chosen who represent India at the International Earth Science Olympiad.
